Whether it is an online trade or a broker-assisted trade.
The type of account selected by you.

Minimum contract sizes on fxdirect

For Basic account: Minimum contract size is 100,000 per trade
(What this means is that if you have a Basic account, contract sizes have to be at least 100,000 and multiples thereof.
Eg. For a Long position 400,000 EUR/USD - this would constitute 4 contracts. You cannot have a contract size of 150,000 or 50,000 units.)

For Ultra account: Minimum contract size is 500,000. Additional contracts can be multiples of 100,000.
(What this means is that if you have an Ultra account, the minimum contract size has to be 500,000 units. Additional contracts over and above this can be of 100,000 units or multiples.
Eg: Long 600,000 EUR/USD - 2 contracts, 1 of 500,000 and 1 of 100,000
      Long 1200,000 EUR/USD - 4 contracts, 2 of 500,000 and 2 of 100,000)
