Job Title: Market Risk Manager Reports to: Head of Risk Management The Overall Job Purpose Managing the Market Risk function for the bank in line with the Market Risk policies. This will include evaluating the following:
· Providing input to Credit Risk on approval of counterparty credit limits, collateral thresholds and approval of individual trades. · Handling the bank's regulatory requirements pertaining to Market Risk including VaR calculations and Basel. · Calculating Potential Credit Exposure to trading counterparties. · Evaluating portfolio sensitivity to different market factors and conducting stress tests. · Liaising with front office, back office and risk management for the smooth monitoring and reporting of limits and other MIS. · Maintain the Market Risk Framework, Trading and Investment, Liquidity, Interest Rate Management, and ALCO policy documents. · Review all ALCO submissions from Treasury, Investment Banking and any products related to Capital Markets. In addition, review all capital markets products offered by Treasury, Investment banking and Islamic banking for operational risk issues. · Reviewing, updating and developing market risk policies and procedures Desired Profile: · 3+ years experience with treasury and capital markets products in a risk management or trading role in an active geographic market. · Good written and verbal communication skills. · Able to understand the complexity between procedures and business requirements.
